Black Walnut Pie
1 cup white corn syrup
1/3 cup melted butter
3 whole eggs
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 heaping cup black walnuts
1/2 to 1 tsp. vanilla
Mix ingredients well. Pour into unbaked 9" pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
Special Black Walnut Banana Bread
1 c butter at room temperature
2 c sugar
3 c flour
1 c whole wheat flour
2 t baking soda
4 eggs
6 bananas
1c black walnuts ( chopped)
1 c mini chocolate chips
1 - 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries (drained and chopped)
Mash bananas and mix in soda, set aside, chop walnuts and cherries, set aside.
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs beat until combined, add bananas and soda beat well, mix in flour then fold in nuts, chocolate chips and cherries.
Divide into 3 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Chocolate Pecan Pie
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c Karo light or dark corn syrup
1 c sugar
2 T margarine
4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 t vanilla
1 ½ c pecans
1 unbaked 9” pie shell
Melt margarine and chocolate chips together. In a medium mixing bowl, beat eggs, add sugar, Karo syrup, melted margarine and chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir pecans and pour into pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Serve with cream .
